The Addendum to the 2023 RIAP Annual Report – Data 2007-2022, written in english, provides an outline of the Registry’s activities since its implementation and a summary of RIAP data analysis regarding hip, knee and shoulder replacements performed in Italy during the period 2007-2022. In the Addendum you will find all tables and figures from the Report, including those with the most recent national Hospital Discharge Data available (years 2021 and 2022 for hip, knee, shoulder and ankle).

The Addendum to the 2021 Riap Annual Report provides a brief overview of the main findings described in the Report. It contains an outline of the Registry’s activities and its key achievements in 2021 as well as the summary of RIAP data analysis regarding hip, knee and shoulder arthroplasties performed in Italy in 2020. In the Addendum, you will find all the tables and figures from the Report, including the tables with the most recent national Hospital Discharge Data available (years 2019 and 2020 for hip, knee, shoulder and ankle).

Tables and figures are available in Excel format.

The Errata corrige of the Addendum is available (updated November 29, 2023). The downloadable version of the Addendum contains the corrections.

In the Addendum, you will find all the tables and figures from the Report, including the tables with the most recent national Hospital Discharge Data available (years 2016 and 2017; hip, knee, shoulder and ankle).

The full version of the report is only available in Italian.

Annual Report 2018: English addendum

The publication of the Addendum to RIAP Annual Report 2018 in English is aimed at supporting the international dissemination of the results achieved by the Italian Arthroplasty Registry.

From 2018 on, the Annual Report (the full version of the report is only available in Italian) is entirely dedicated to the activities carried out by RIAP team, focusing exclusively on the data collected by RIAP.

Tables and figures resulting from the HDD analysis, presented in previous editions have been excluded from this year issue and are the subject of a separate analysis. The only legacy table included in this year’s Addendum, portrays the total number of joint replacements carried out in Italy in the period 2001-2016 along with the 2017 estimate for hip, knee, and shoulder joints (Appendix 2B).

The structure of the Report has become therefore more agile and stretches through two chapters (no longer five). Chapter 1 summarizes the activities of RIAP in 2017-2018. Chapter 2 is dedicated to the analysis of RIAP data of 2017 and reports the measurement of coverage and completeness of the participating institutions.

Likewise, the English Addendum has also been reworked. The document now includes a comprehensive Executive Summary divided into five paragraphs (About RIAP, RIAP in 2017-2018: progress and key achievements, Key findings from the Annual Report 2018, Challenges, Future development and plans for 2019) followed by the tables and figures relating to the analysis of the RIAP data collected in 2017.

Fourth Report 2017: English addendum

English version of Tables and Figures.
The publication of the English Addendum to the Fourth RIAP Report 2017 aims to support the international dissemination of the Italian Registry activities and results.

The Addendum includes a thorough Executive Summary presenting the Report content and organization, and all the Tables and Figures of Chapters 4 and 5, referring to the analyses performed on the national Hospital Discharge Data (2001-2015) and on the Registry database (2016), respectively.

English version of Tables and Figures
In this Addendum to the Second Report, all the Tables and Figures of Chapter 4 and 5, describing statistical analyses on joint arthroplasty from national Hospital Discharge Record (HDR) database 2001-2013 and RIAP data 2014, have been translated in English for a comprehensive reading worldwide.

First Report 2014: executive summary

The book titled “Italian Arthroplasty Registry Project. Concept, development, start-up. First Report”, edited by Marina Torre, Ilaria Luzi, Eugenio Carrani, Luisa Leone, Emilio Romanini, Gustavo Zanoli is a picture of the work done since the RIAP started.

The aim is to make aware the health professionals and the decision makers about the central role that a national arthroplasty registry has in the management of the implanted devices safety, as well as the patients about the importance that a system able to monitor outcomes in joint replacement surgery has for their health protection.

The book is organized in 5 Chapters:

Chapter 3: RIAP participating institutions
